Service is the rent you pay for your place on Earth.

This won't be long. Truthfully, it can't be. Because my heart and spirit is so filled with emotion, I really can't find the words to be verbose right now. But I had to get this down while I feel it.
Sometimes God will give you an assignment that on the surface makes zero sense to you. You may even find yourself ready to question Him. But even when you are in a situation that is uncomfortable, miserable, annoying, stressful and dare I say even feels beneath what you deserve, patience and steadfastness goes a long way. You know what goes even longer? HUMILITY.
Humbling yourself and going forth with your assignment even though you have no idea what the outcome is supposed to be does wield some powerful and moving results. Sometimes just being present as your authentic self will allow you to fill your (or our) purpose of being the salt of the earth. I know y'all are wondering what the hell happened to me that has me at the pulpit this evening. WELL.....I'm truly seeing the power of humility and service. I am blessed enough to see my insignificant presence enrich the lives of people who I ordinarily would not have the opportunity to touch. And there is nothing better in life than leaving people better than when you found them. I am so thankful to be of service, to be a comfort, to be someone of direction and integrity, to be relied upon and to be respected. Because I give respect before I even receive it.
Without going to much into it, I want to thank those who allow me to be me for them. I honor my assignment and am moved.
